Could not find a website too about Gustavsson. Maxguitarstore in the Hague has two models, one with hb's, one with P90's.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Johan Gustavsson Bluesmaster Custom '59

Has a honduran mahogany body with a AAA carved flame maple top, glued in mahogany neck, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with crown inlays, 24 3/4" scale length, two humbuckers or P90īs, custom made "wraparound" bridge, Sperzel machine heads.

It is essentially a Les Paul, though, isn't it?  Unless it's a hollow body?  There's a hint of Nik Huber in the body shape.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

~ Johan Gustavsson Guitars ~

Itīs been just about twenty years since Johan Gustavsson built his first guitar during an apprenticeship in a furniture workshop in Malmoe, Sweden. As a young guitarist he could not afford expensive name brand instruments. That's why he decided to find out if he could manage to build a guitar on his own. Lots of wood and machinery was right in front of him. His first instrument won first prize in a contest arranged by the magazine HIFI & Music. His curiosity paved the way to forming JG Guitars, when his three year education was completed.

Johan has been a professional touring and session guitarist for well over 2 decades. His vast experience with the repair and restoration of the most coveted vintage guitars that Fullerton and Kalamazoo ever produced has informed his aesthetic. His experiences as both a luthier and a seasoned player made it abundantly clear that he had to supply his clients with instruments that at least rivaled the finest vintage and boutique guitars available, both in terms of playability and beauty. Johan's guitars are built of only the finest Brazilian Rosewood, old growth Honduras Mahogany, Swamp Ash and Eastern hardrock Maple. Hardware options are limited only by availability. Gustavsson instruments are completely built with both passion and precision. The satisfaction of each individual client is job one. Simple as that!!

Indeed Les Paul-ish. Not hollow, for as far as I know. There is some Huber in the body shape, but the JG-shape is also quite close to the Hamer Talladega, I think.

Yep, certainly looks Hamer-ish!

Negotiations have started on a DGT, so that may well be the winner....

The Tyler '59 neck on the one I had was awesome - but I've never tried any Suhrs for comparison.

can't remember what the neck was on the one i tried... and as i said, having only tried one of each it doesn't tell you all that much, but i did think the tyler was sweet. Very expensive, though, and I'm not sure it was any better than a custom build which you could get for about half the price from a british luthier (plus with a custom build you can get it exactly the way you want, with the right pickups etc.).

EDIT: nice score, dave :)

Goldtop DGT ordered  ;)

The SGR will be up for sale in a week or so, and I'll need to decide whether the JTM45/100 half stack stays or goes too....

Dave - When we met at Wez's house, which PRS was it that had the rosewood neck? I've been thinking about the feel of that neck and I'm curious. I'm back to thinking about the project build (note: not actually building it ) and I would like something similar. Can you also let me know what the finish was.

Cheers mate.

Any photo's of the PRS yet (the new one....no, not that new one....... the other new one )
Advice worth what you just paid for it.
