Of course I do, the fun never goes away  :)

I think everything I've decided to sell, I have ended up actually selling, even if it took a while and went for a sh!tty price.

I've only offered my other guitars for sale once each before realising the error of my ways!

Nice choice Dave, I'd be interested ito hear why you chose a gold top and not another McKorina or McRosie? If I'd have had the cash I would have bought one of the ones you sold hence my question.

I've had 3 McKorinas and while they give a great warm bluesy sound, they don't work so well in a live band mix for the rock tunes we play, and for my own bass heavy playing style.  They sound less "wide" - like they're lacking some extra high end sparkle?  I guess the lack of maple top zing is the factor here.

Another McRosie would just be a lower spec Modern Eagle, and I wanted something different.  I'ev had two McRosies before, and neither compared to the Eagle for me.

The PS Sig Ltd on the way is basically a Modern Eagle with a sinker mahogany neck, so it's different to the Eagle.  The DGT is different again due to it's trem, and has the advantage of a nitro finish (unlike a regular McCarty or Custom).

Simple huh?

Ha ha!  I'm glad someone does!  You'll have to bob up and try them all out sometime.

Yeah, I can imagine that.  I love the korina tone, but of course I'm not playing in a band situation.  I think there's a little more sparkle than mahogany - in a way - but not so much as a mapletop.

Well the DGT is here  :)  Nice weight and the gold is cool in the flesh.

It feels great, the neck seems inbetween a wide fat and a regular with a hint of V. Very easy to play. The stock 11s take a bit more shove to bend to pitch, but don't feel 'tight' - quite an unusual feeling.

Tone wise it seems to have more thickness than the Eagle, yet with the same level of clarity. I reckon the ME is a slightly better match for the XTC and more unique sounding, but the DGT is a better all-rounder.

More back to backs and amp comparisons required over the weekend I think!

How do you think the trem affects tone/sustain, Dave?

It's always been my impression that the PRS tremolo is probably the best unit out there for people who don't usually like tremolos... if you see what I mean.

Congrats for the DGT !To my ears, the PRS tremolo is a + .Better tone & sustain.David Grissom started with a Mcarty but quickly asked for a trem (McTrem) as he prefered the tone & feel .When they built the DGT,the trem was a fixture all along ,esp. for his "reverb" effect...And i agree but i don't have a DGT  :?...yet! Is it as good as advertised?

I think you should get that Tabby hybid. Then get bored of it in say 6 months then sell it to me at a bargain price... I really love the look/idea of that thing.

Quite happy with PRS guitars thanks Mr Solo - that hybrid is cool but a bit too Strat for me. I like Fenders raw like a beat up Esquire or Tele!

Not had enough time to assess the trem yet, but I didn't notice any lack of sustain. I can feel and hear the difference between the DGT and the Eagle but I think it's an unfair comparison. The woods used are of different quality and the Eagle has a bit of special mojo on top...

Awesome, glad you are happy with it. When the "other" new one arrives I'll bring my better half up your way and drop by to check these beasts out. I think a couple of nice pics of the PRSi would be good! 8)

I'll agree with this. The 6 point PRS trem on my CU22 is my fave trem unit of anything I have.
