I really like the rothwell love squeeze. It doesn't seem to colour the tone but just squishes it in a nice way.

Well, I got the big brother of the MXR Dynacomp, the supercomp (which has one knob added) and it is great.
Not super cheap, but good value for money in my book.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

MXR Dynacomp.

^ +1

Your compressor search ends here, I got one again about 6 months ago after not having one for a few years and don't know how I managed, they're just perfect.  I will say however that I don't use mine in the way most probably would - I whack the output up full and the sensitivity around 10 o' clock for a solo boost, really makes single notes stand out and fattens things up.

Rockman Guitar Compressor if you can find one on eBay! Maybe not as adjustable as the MXR but the sound is just incredible.

plus 1 for the Rothwell Love Squeeze. Particularly useful when playing with others, sits you in the mix better so you can always be heard but without being too loud [until it's time to be loud of course]  8)

I quite like the orange squeezer - subtle but really nice. Also quite partial to the saffron squeeze/ross/dynacomps

Another one to check out is the CMATMODS comp. I had a keeley 4 knob but never really got on with the super squishy sound but then I don't play Country or with a really clean sound. I sold it and got a CMATMODS 4 knob Signa Comp and it's fantastic, it's a pedal I can leave on and still get the benefit of a balanced sound and sustain. The other great comp is a Barber Tone Press, it was between those 2 for me.

I've used a Visual Sound Comp 66 for a while, i actually preferred it my old dyna comp, purely because of the tone control. You can really tailor it to your needs. Also the tone control can be switched out of circuit putting it in the dyna comp area.

It's not getting any use at the moment, it's mint and boxed etc

Another +1 for the love squeeze.  I replaced a old boss compressor a couple of years ago. The love squeeze is great!

I use a Telenorndia Kompressor. 3 knobs. It does a grand job. Another one to look at would be the HBE one.
