buckethead plays circles around slash.. with his eyes closed.. one hand behind his back .. and propped 15 feet in the air.

but he doesnt fit GnR the way slash does. no slash, no GnR end of story.

but i doubt he's going to be on the record.. there's only so much bullshiteee, even a freak like buckethead will take

Yeah I agree with no slash, no GnR.. But I still prefer Slash's playing, from what I've heard of buckethead he seems to be a typical boring player who does some fast stuff then boring tapping etc

Buckethead left the band ages ago, I thought. I'm not sure who the current guitarist is.

You have CLEARLY not heard enough of Buckethead. A lot - if not most - of his albums consist of approximately 0% shred.

The player in the "Slash" role with G'n'R is the great and weird Ron Thal, who actually does a good job. He's kind of a halfway house between Slash and Buckethead. He doesn't quite have the same tonal authority as Slash though :(

Personally Buckethead doesn't do it for me

I was going to mention Ron Thal but wasn't sure if he was just in G&R for the last tour, or a permant member

If he would quit using those bloody Line 6 amps he would get a better tone IMHO

I do like the bumblefoot stuff though and the line 6 copes well enough for his schitzo styles, but for GnR !
