Expensive Strat GAS

I went to Coda Music today to look for an affordable Classical guitar as I'm considering taking up Classical. Unfortunately the cheapest for £900 Taylor which was very nice but way too much.

However I checked out some Fender's and I really like the Baja Tele and Squier Vintage Vibe Tele.

Then I checked out one of these

Such a beautiful chunky birdseye maple neck which had me hooked. I didn't plug it in as it's expensive but my god I considered selling everything and paying the rest on the take it away scheme.

Very nice, and it's great that they make it with a "Large C" neck, if only that was available on cheaper models.....

But I find them a bit too pretty with the flame maple, abalone inlays etc.  I think for the same (or a bit more) money I'd rather have a Relic!

I like relics but I couldn't justify the price for a guitar that's been beaten.

Think of it as just another finish - it actually takes a lot of extra work compared with a normal finish.  :)

I didn't pay much more than that for one of the 2010 '58 limited strats. You just need to shop and bargain hard.

Yeah I guess so.

I've also got GAS for the American Deluxe's now. The only way I could afford it is if I sold my PRS CE22, though I'm not sure right now.

I have two HSS-strats and can understand your GAS completely. Lots of these CS's have a great tone/vibe.

They lack the chunky neck, unfortunately.  :(

Although they do offer a V neck option, if that's your kind of thing.

Nice...I think I need a strat with humbucker in bridge to complete my arsenal which is expanding nicely, but that guitar is nice but....dangit I think I'd go for a plain black with tortoiseshell & rosewood neck...oh dear...I think I've just created my own GAS!

Very nice indeed. I was in a similar frame of mind last weekend during a trip to Andertons. I managed to resist. That does look good. I am not always a fan of a h/b Strat but that does appeal I must admit.

It looks great but i bet it doesn't sound any better than a bkp'd am std. I'd have fancy wood over normal grained if it
cost say another 15% but it seems to double the price(or more).This alone keeps my gas in the cannister.
