What is there to say about the Rainbow Machine, I've been having a good play with it the last couple of days and I can quite honestly say that if you want to create some 70's TV sci-fi or early video game sound effects, look no further. Occasionally you will find a setting that can actually be played... Though what's the fun in that?! It is, without a shadow of a doubt the maddest pedal I now own. The manual doesn't exactly make it any clearer. I love the description of the magic knob which, and I quote, 'adjusts the weirdness of the effect'. Which sums it up really.
