you can say its trem picking..
The tone sounds very fuzzy.A quick google points the finger at this pedal:http://m.youtube.com/#/profile?desktop_uri=%2Fuser%2Fnfe%3Ffeature%3Dwatch&help=False&channel_id=0&livestreaming_tutorial=False&ytsession=%7B%7D&feature=watch&start=0&user=nfe&tab=&autoplay=True&gl=GBIf this is the case it will be with the saturation rolled back like at 2:05 in the vid. Most velcro type fuzz pedals will get you 90% there. There might also be a phase 45 used as i can hear a bit of modulation at the end of the track.Just a guess. He's just hammering the strings quickly in the live videos
I think there is some phaser in there, or some swirly flanger.
I like this game.Live it's a les paul bridge pickup in to a fender something sonic or other with an overdrive pedal. In the studio I think it is a cranked vox ac4tv, possibly, with an overdrive pedal in front of it. It mat be a les paul it may be an epi casino with a p94 in the bridge.
