I must admit that I've not been that impressed by the PRS amps. I think they had one in at Guitar Village. Might even still be there and if that's the case it has been there since launch.

They definitely need some crystal lattice  - that'll make them sell like hot cakes.
I think I hate being indecisive.

They're £2k+ for the USA amps, and around £1000 for the Chinese SE ones.

A lot of competition at £2k from very well respected builders...

hmmm, £1k for a Chinese-built amp is steep.  £2k for a hand-wired amp isn't cheap, but at least its in line with the rest of that market.

I liked the cleans on the PRS amps, but the OD just sounded muffled and fizzy round the edges (top and bottom).

I only heard clips on Youtube and based on them, I couldn't figure out what's the fuzz all about.

Today I played a PRS SE Frederik Akesson Signature SC245 and it was AMAZING! It looked great, sounded huge, and played 10 times better than the 3 USA PRS guitars I played (Santana Sig, Mira, and DGT sig). The fretboard was really smooth and the neck was painted but not at all sticky like most custom 24's I've played, it had great upper fret access BLAH BLAH BLAH I could go on forever. But now I'm stuck between this and a handmade Anderson Bulldog(yeah it was that great).

I nearly bought the Akesson model last week (although I haven't been fortunate enough to try one).  Now I think I'm going to wait for the 2012-spec Nick Catanese SE instead.
