he seems to be a pretty good player

it's very hard to tell from a youtube vid, basically. I wouldn't want to judge it based on that.

Yh I know what you mean. I think I've narrowed it down to a Laney though. So i'll just have to find a Laney Dealer. :)

i could be wrong, but i think timmons used a gh back in the day, maybe for teh original recording of cry for you (didn't he? :? :lol: ). if so, that brighter type of tone is more like the gh, to my ears.

EDIT: i guess what i'm trying to say is, if you like timmons' newer tone better than his older one, i'm not sure i'd go with a laney. of course, the new ironheart might be a completely different design. I don't know :lol: Similar thing with zaza. If you listen to the record version of "i'm alright", it's pretty bright. a laney gh50/100L would do that pretty well. But his newer tones have been a lot smoother etc., and again a laney wouldn't be my first pick.
