Locking Nut
« on: February 09, 2012, 09:09:48 PM »
Hi,

im looking to replace the nut on my Jackson KV-4... after much measuring, ive come to the decision that i need an R4 nut... and i was going to order a schaller however on closer inspection i found that the mounting screw holes would not line up.

The picture below is not of my guitar, but it explains the issue.

as you can see the screw mounting holes are not centred on the nut, they are closer to the neck side of the nut.. this is how my current nut is mounted but the schaller nut has these holes drilled dead center (headstock side to neck side)..

also.. the nut will be mounted from the front with screws.. not the through neck method.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a good quality nut, and where i can buy it?

Thanks,
Fender Telecaster
