You do realise this is gonna cost you more than anything on Twinfan thread... How about you stay single and buy a few Private Stocks and a Dumble?

Question....

Do you think for one moment that a thread on a "mainly womens" board would adopt a general "I'm in a relationship so I must stop buying things I can afford for myself that make me happy"?

Nope... neither do I.

Jus' sayin'....

no, and I don't think anyone heres saying that either :)

i simply don't feel like irrationally buying guitars anymore, theres no moral element to it at all. of course, we all know i will eventually get some more, but i won't be asking my financee for permission or anything lame.

I would have thought Amy might be just as into the guitar buying as you.

Congrats! I didn't know people do still engage, Thought it was a kind of traditional thing, but maybe it's totally hip these days.

she doesn't mind it at all, shes a pretty fine acoustic player herself as you know. she didn't understand about decent amps until i let her play through my marshall and now her vox valvetronix doesn't cut it anymore :)

as i say, i just don't feel like buying too many more guitars. i'd like an SG Junior, the Ibanez Fireman, a Bronco/Musicmaster/Duo-Sonic or something similar.. and i can see a place for another V or two, but they would have to be exceptional.

shes been encouraging me to get a Martin or a J45 - but I reckon thats just so she can play it ;) I do quite fancy one of those though as it happens.

I understand what you mean, I'm going through a sort-of similar phase myself (although there is no love in my air....  )

Still GAS-ing as much as ever, but I'm generally managing to take a step back, put my rational head on and say "what does that add to my collection that I haven't got already?".  Which isn't to say I haven't bought anything, but I haven't given in to every impulse like I was doing a year ago.

Things change though, I'm sure you'll be back making irrational purchases before you know it...  :P
