Just fitted a new bridge - any thoughts
« on: February 08, 2006, 09:43:30 AM »
My old Fender bridge in my JV '62 strat had turned to rust and the trem arm had snapped - so I put in a £30 Wilkinson on the basis that it was like a Callahan (i.e. steel block and adjusted string holes)

It sound a lot more stratty than the old fender bridge - somehow those Knopfler, Cray, Richard Thompson type dynamics are increased.

However, it need setting up and I don't know the ball park measurements - so:

Assuming a medium action:

What is the average 12th fret height for the strings
What is the average pickup height bass and treble
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

http://mysite.verizon.net/jazz.guitar/guitarsetup.htm just found this one as well, which gives the string heights for Fender's depending on fretboard radius
