Hey guys,
I'm planning on changing the wiring in my Gibson SG with a RS Guitarworks wiring kit as I don't like the current pots, and have heard great things about the kits.
After i've done that i'm going to replace the stock pickups, starting with the bridge. I use a Marshall DSL50, and depending on what i'm playing a variety of pedals. I'm undecided between low-output and high-output, and have become interested in the Warpig after reading it's surprisingly versatile.
The heaviest i'd need to go would be bands like Closure In Moscow, Biffy Clyro, Pulled Apart By Horses, Arcane Roots and The Fall Of Troy.
On the less 'heavy' side of things, bands like The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, Incubus etc.
I like a wide-range of music, but I figured seeing as I have a Strat and my PRS has vintage-esque pickups, maybe going for something with a higher output would be a good idea.
Basically, should I only really consider the WP if I want to do Death Metal etc. or is it versatile as some people suggest? If it can do anything from decent cleans all the way up to really heavy stuff, it could be the one for me :)
Any help you can give will be much appreciated guys/girls. Then i've gotta work out a neck pickup, i'm thinking a MQ :)
