NGD: LTD EC401
« on: July 08, 2012, 08:17:17 PM »
Well I've been waiting all week for this!

I did a trade with Brow and I couldn't be happier. It's taking a bit of adjusting getting used to playing such a drastically different feeling guitar from my normal fare but i'm loving it so far other than the pickups.

Normally I LOVE EMG's but in this guitar they just aren't doing it for me. I think if I can get over how hideous the Blackhawk looks I may drop a set in this but ill play it for a few weeks first and see how I feel.

Oh and for good measure here's the whole family.

I'm sure I've said it before (more than once!), but if only there was a "fat neck" option on those ESPs/LTDs I'd have definitely bought one by now.  I think it's a really nice modern interpretation of the LP design.

Nice one Tony!  :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

I was going to say the neck is pretty fat. But that's compared to an Ibanez neck...

Id say its about the same as my strat though that's got a standard C shaped fender spec neck on currently a bit flatter radius though.

I haven't tried many ESPs, so I could be wrong, but it's not just the (to me) skinniness of the neck, the whole neck shape just doesn't feel "right" somehow.

Same with most Korean guitars I've tried actually (are LTDs still Korean?), I know lots of different Korean brands are built in the same factories (like the Cort factory), maybe those "factory" neck shapes just don't suit me?

It could very well be that. The whole factory is against you.

To be honest I haven't even looked where it was made yet I just plugged it in and enjoyed playing it. Ill check tomorrow

I'd say you needed a good LP type guitar to round out that collection so far. Congrats

If you put the Blackhawks in there, you'll quickly get over how ugly they are trust me.

Nice looking guitar and sweet collection. Every guitar collection should at least hold one LP
