Oh ok I see so they don't really make bad stuff its just they have a bit of a bad rep!

That Boss pedal sounds brilliant will have to look at getting one of those!

Well, I've just borked my wrist, should be sorted in a week or two. If I get chance, I'll rough a short clip together of it. (Last time I said short, it ended up being a full song, heheh)

As far as solid state pedals like the Boss one go, try a Haywire Metal Distortion. It beats the cr@p out of the boss metal pedals I've used. Same controls as a boss metal zone but with a tight/loose switch. Loose sounds like a boss metal zone but tight sounds better for modern metal tones. Or get an orange dark terror. Great amp.

I owned a line 6 uber metal for a few years. The 'scoop' dial is pretty sensitive and really lets you shape your tone in combination with the 3 distortion settings. I got loads of different sounds--and although digital, they are pretty good. And obviously then you don't have to dish out the bucks for valve gear.
