Anyone have any dealings with these guys, or their high street shop in Orpington?

I ordered a scratchplate ages ago, spoke to them some months back and they said that they were waiting on materials.  Now I can't get them on the phone or via email.

Anyone heard anything about them?  I've used them before, and they were great...

I've seen the website before, I think Afghan Dave told me about it. 

Didn't order anything because they didn't have whatever it was I was looking for at the time (I think I may have sent an email and got no reply)

I probably did mention them as I saw they did some really cool stuff.

I haven't bought anything though... hope it works out. Did you pay by credit card?  :?

Paypay - less worried about the cash (30 quid), but I sent them my original Charvel scratchplate to copy, and if they've gone under I can probably kiss that goodbye!

I'll chase them again today..

That would be annoying, it's not as if you can easily get a replacement. 

Not that it helps the current situation, but I've had scratchplates made by Sims before - they're good, but horrendously expensive.

I think WD pickguards are actually made by Simms for UK orders too.

Good luck getting the original guard back

So - no luck with these guys.  Constantly calling, emailing, no answer.  They have a shopfront called TMT Music on Orpington High Street - no answer from them either.

Paypay won't open a resolution case, because it's been too long... Looks like I'm not going to get my original scratchplate back unless I break into the shop and have a hunt around for it.

Couldn't see the business listed as bankrupt, but I'm not sure that's a guarantee of them still being in business.

Pain in the @rse, it is.

OK - given up on getting the scratchplate back.

I have one (ironically, one they made for me a few years back, as a copy of the original!!!).  Can anyone recommend a company that can make me another, with a different pickup configuration?

I quite enjoy making scratchplates (....Afghan, don't laugh!), but bevelling the edges is the tricky part.

 :lol:  I try to avoid the celluloid ones for that very reason - safety first!

The pearloid ones are OK, I think the Warmoth tortoiseshell material may be celluloid, though....
