Manhattans...
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:12:52 AM »
have an old Yamaha SG500 loaded with a pair of BKP Manhattans which I use exclusively for slide. Could it be rewired so they are humcancelling in the middle position?

They'll only be humcancelling if one pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity.

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Afraid not - if yours are stock you'd need to get one pickup completely rebuilt.  Or replace it with a RW/RP version.

Thanks Philly Q, I might just replace the bridge pickup with a humbucker then. Might open up a few possibilities as the SG500 was original built for 'buckers anyway and I've always preferred the neck Manhattan over the bridge.
