You'll find quite a few Celestions on EBay and there are a couple of folks who do new Eminence speakers - I think that I paid a tad under £50 inc postage for my Wizard - what sort of amp/combo are you intending to use it with?

using a H&K Cream Machine at the moment, but i plan to replace it with another valve amp in the 30-50watt range at some point.

Have you listened to a G12H in a single 1x12???

To my ears they sound better with at least two working together, as a single speaker the tone doesn't really breathe very much, slightly boxy in the mids imho!

hmm, what would you suggest HJM?

i was considering the g12h on the basis that i like the 70s rock/metal sound and they have a high sensitivity. g12h seemed a good match. but if they sound not that good in a 1x12 of course i'm open to consider any suggestion.

of course it would be the best to actually hear some, but i have no idea of a place in the south london area where i can a-b different speakers.
