warpig question

I see I'm a bit too late on this one, but here's my two cents if the ceramic warpig is too much. With a brighter guitar usually an Alnico 5 will warm up the response while increasing the bottom end and rounding out the tone. I can usually get a really tight palm mute even with alnico 5, it just depends on the scale of the guitar and the voicing of the pickups. I have a set of Bill n' becky L500's in a PRS SE Custom 24 that can handle any style almost  :D  Shorter scale guitars like Les Pauls, for instance, have a mushier feel than a longer scale like PRS, strat style or Baritone

However, if you are using a lower tuning through a Mesa, the ceramic will be tighter like everyone else has said. The high end is usually brighter and a bit more raspy with a ceramic magnet, but will clean things up considerably on the low end. Having double screws will soften the high end on a pickup. (I had a few conversations on this with Suhr) and tends to smooth out the treble response on a pickup.  Just some info I've picked up from people in the industry I've spoken with. It´s lottery a bit...Everytime...Specialy with Bare Knuckles...But I like whole process untill you´ll get it to your guitar...Anyway thank you for comment...The guitar is longer scale an it´s bright enough...But I have couple mahogany guitars left so in case too much treble scenario I will move it there...As someone said before there is more factors as preamp tubes,cables,speakers and cab voicing what helps shape overal tone too...

Not ordered yet...How low you tune your 6 sting axe?I´m on C#...Can you compare these two beasts when you play heavy palm mute rifs?...I mean something like this ↓ ↓ ↓

sorry for slow replay. had a busy weekend . I have the A pig on my dropped D guitar, but I do set it up for drop C sometimes .the A pig handles it but the low C gets a little sludgey, but in a good way . But it all depends on the guitar so much anyway

To compare the A pig is looser for muted chuggs. it's darker up top but brighter in the mids . it sounds great but for a bit more tighness I'm loving the Cpig at the moment . I also don't find the C pig any hotter than the A pig. they are both equally hot I'd say . At this stage I'd say the Cpig sounds better in a band mix but its still early days with it

you'll be happy. they are both great pickups but I do think for a recto Cpig  is def the way to go

It's a hell of a thing if it works and suits your ear.  I couldn't get a C-pig to sound right in a mahogany 7 string so put Blackouts in it.  Half tempted to even take them out now and go a set of Aftermaths in it.

got it...instaled...played...with marshall KK it's satans crunch...with dual recto need bit eq tweaking and now sounds thunderous....it tames high freqs of alder/maple/ebony combo which sounded almost singlecoilish with MM which has own place in mahogany now....definitely good choice...Thanx...

I just installed an alnico warpig in my friends ebony scale gibson faded V
leans towards a softer smooth sound and it's not really high output
feels a little less hot than a duncan custom and a lot less hot than the stockibson g 500t, but has a nice midrange "gnarl" and way more clarity than the others
