Thinking of putting a set on my list for Santa to bring me! I have an Rg7621 I'm putting together at the moment. Basswood body , rosewood board, maple neck.
Pickups I like: the aftermath rules so hard, as does the d sonic, blaze, and D Activator neck in the bridge position.
I like: clarity, tight bass, smooth mids. I pump mids into the amp. I like a pickup with a bit of compression to it. I play light strings and I have a light touch with both hands, so I'm okay with the pickup doing some of the work for me.
I love some nice slappy single coil like pick attack, like the sound you get when you play a Tele through a high gain amp. Love that shite. That vowel-like annunciation on the attack is my favorite sound ever.
