Strat humbucker
« on: November 26, 2012, 08:00:25 PM »
hey, im looking for a single coil sized rail pickup for my strat in the bridge position. gunna use it for classic rock and modern rock. im stuck between pickups like the dimarzio super distortion, tone zone, pro tracks or the seymour duncan cool rails. i dont really want a metal pickup, but it needs to be able to handle distortion as well as sounding nice clean

Unfortunately BKP don't make them and this is a BKP forum - have you tried Dimarzio/Seymour Duncan forum?

You're on the wrong forum!
Don't tell the others, but I used to use a j.b. junior on my strat and found it really versatile. It splits quite nicely and gives you some pretty good tones. It also balances quite well with the other single coils despite its fairly high output. Over 14k rings a bell.
You could just butcher the scratch plate and stick a full size bucker in there!

I had them: Fasttrack II and Tonezone T. Not particularly dynamic and transparant. Have a look at the Trilogies and Sinner-single coils. Or if your strat has a bathtub under the plate, buy another pickguard and install a humbucker.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

The only one I've tried is the Duncan Hot Rails which I didn't like at all.

If it's a new(ish) American Fender Strat, it'll be routed HSH - I must add to the chorus of "just get another scratchplate and fit a proper humbucker".  :P
