Just come across this list of the 50 Greatest pedals....In the World...Ever.

Good to see the Z Vex Fuzz Factory's in there.

Not sure what my other fave pedal is. I think I've used my original Marshall 'govner more than anything. When I've tried it recently it's sounded too thick but it also seemed to fit in when playing in a band.

they're wrong - they've got some of the gooduns and some of the classic cheap'n'cheerful ones, but they've missed out quite a few vital components imho

Interesting article. I'm sure they'll have missed something really obvious, but when I'm confronted by that much information I find it hard to think!

While I'm on an effect pedal trip....

"Guitar Effect Pedals" by Dave Hunter. It's split into how they work, vintage effects, modern effects and interviews with the makers. It comes with a CD so you can listen to them too.

The books interesting but not that detailed. If you already know your pedals then you'll know most of what's in it. If you're not a complete pedal hound then it's worth a read/listen.

Article should've been titled "50 of the MOST POPULAR Stompboxes", but it's still a pretty comprehensive list with a little bit of everything.

I agree.

The Dunlop 535Q wah was mentioned, but not the original Dunlop Wah, the BOSS MT2 was mentioned, but the original BOSS OD (OD1) wasn't!

I'd also mention the BOSS SD1 myself as alot of people use them instead of Tubescreamers. I'd also give the Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer a mention as well.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't be bothered to think at the minute :lol:

+1, but i guess its a guitar magazine, designed to be read by a wide range of people, and the people wanna hear about stuff they've heard of

I agree with that. They didn't include the booteek pedals. It's like making a list of the best cars in the world without the Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lambos etc.

Well, they did include Fulltone, Demeter, Klon (which is a GREAT OD), Roger Mayer and Z. Vexx!
