Zakk Wylde was cool when he first joined Ozzy and looked like a guitar god in waiting.
Lately with the long Viking Beard andd Biker gear he looks like a tramp.

I still think his playing is great but he could do with a shave!

But would you say this to Zakk's face?

I'm guessing not, I know I wouldnt mess with Zakk

I would too, walked past him at Ozzfest last year. He is not as scary as the pics make out. Does look as drunk though lol.
Ozzy the puppet, bless him. Well he has been in USA Hollyweird too long and with all those mutts Sharon is dressing him like a Hollyweird doggy now "sit Ozzy, now roll over" lol.
I must say when I saw VR that Weiland is a little odd. Maybe he is another Halford and I don't know it, hmmm, who knows.

I probably wouldnt mess with either especially if he'd had a few beers

I'm just stuck in the 80s where guitarists were interested in attracting girls...
I dont know a single girl who doesn't prefer the old clean shaven Zakk

Heh, my sister used to be quite taken with Zakk back when he was the new guitarist for the Ozzy band -- I'm not sure she'd admit to it any more ;)

Spandex was not, in general, a good look for anyone.  Some of those old Iron Maiden vids ... sheesh!  :o But I've got to put in a mention for the freaky duds that Sabbath often sported in the 70s -- that weird fringed thing Ozzy used to stagger about in, f'r inst'nce.  There are transvestite pimps that dress who would that stuff was a bit over the top!  Oh, and the cover of Sabotage is just ugly.   Damn.

My two pesos, anyway ....

Spandex is deffinately UNCOOL. Might as well go buck necked like the Cilli Peppers.

Zakk, get a shave!

It's very unappetising when seeing Zakk doing a solo with all that drool running down that beard.

I always assumed that was beer!  Otherwise, he needs a rabies shot.  (Possibly a good idea anyway .... :))

I must be the only person who thinks Zakk looks better as he has aged, but then I also remember the fashion disasters in the 80's - CC Deville anybody?. Zakks beard rocks, and metal isn't supposed to be cool. At least those stupid nu-metal beards seem to be disappearing as well - sideburns Mastodan style are in!

I've heard an interesting story (think it was from Tom Morello) where a hells angel mate of Zakk's actually apologised for Zakk being drunk and interrupting Tom on stage.

Well, for my part, I think Zakk's beard looks fine (though occasionally a bit grungy), but then I'm a (straight) guy and I always liked ZZ Top anyway. 8)

Yeah, forget his hair  style -- what I have a problem with is Zakk being drunk off his ass. It makes him play bad and act like a jerk, as far as I can tell!  And that segment on the Boozed, Broozed & Broken-Boned DVD where the whole band is just goofing around being wasted is so incredibly boring.  Who the hell though putting that there was better than more of that Japanese footage?!  Ah well, I heard a rumour that the ol' Zakkster was acting a bit more sobered up recently, so hopefully this is true!

When anything nu-metal (so lame is doesn't deserve an umlaut!) disappears, it's a good thing, IMO!  Though when I eventually lose enough hair (any day now ;)), I'll cut it short, buy a white tropical suit and some shades, and grow a little Emilio Estefan beard.  Then I'll just need the swimming pool to line up my guitars by and some drinks with umbrellas in them  8)

When I was in university, I for some reason thought growing huge Mike-Nesmith-style sideburns was a good idea. :o  Eventually, for the best really, I went off this idea .... :)

These days, the missus an' meself occasionally play "Beard Chicken": she says "Hey, let the beard grow" and I say "Yeah, all right" ('cause I hate shaving) and then we'll see which one of us breaks first.  (Usually, things run for about a month and then she breaks down and tells me to shave again ;)).

More usually I do that Don-Johnson stubble thing (though in a less 80s kinda way :)).

But at least I've never been tempted to wear spandex!  :P

i say "hooray" for all the loony rockers that wear mad clothes!  it's always good to have a couple of bands that are, ahem, "keepin' it real for the kids" like Metallica in their jeans and trainers back in the 80's, but these guys are up on stage putting on a show, which is not reality, and it's great when they look like they're from another planet.
i still think the funniest picture i've ever seen was an off duty Brett Michaels of Poison in a pair of pink shorts and a wool tank top!  really, he looked a lot better in skin tight lycra and half an inch of make-up... er, in an entirely manly way of course...
