I really got hooked on the set of ITs I got and want to get as close to the iconic Frusciante tone as gear will allow. So, the MM's "
alternative" demo pretty much nails it, I just love that purrrr.
Now I am wondering whether I should go for RWRP or not and baseplates on any pickup or not. From what I think I know about John's 62, I would say no RWRP and no baseplate anywhere, but I wanted to ask what y'all think about it. (my IT set has baseplates on all 3, so that also points to no baseplates on MMs for more flexibility between the two guitars)
Alder body, maple neck, rosewood board should do it, right? Not sure how different the tone is on the Wilkinson Tremolo so should I consider swapping it for e.g. a callaham?
