a new beginning for sambo- a relevant(ish) topic
« on: March 03, 2006, 05:07:24 PM »
seeing as my randomness is too much for many of the forum members  :P , i have decided to start and post about relevant topics... starting with this one: (ok so its not exactly RELEVANT but its a start)

tonight im going to a gig where three local bands will playing, none of them are good, but my mates are organising it to raise money for some world challenge thing so i cant boo and hiss... now theres going to be music (indie/pop/rock music that is) playing between songs/bands from a stereo... two twins have been designated the role of compiling a playlist for this and will be in charge of the music most of the night... until 9.... this is when people are changing jobs and my inside contact in the group of organisers (the lead guitarist in our band) is going to swap roles with the twins and take charge of the music.... at this point, I, along with my accomplish, (tiny tom a.k.a drummer) will hijack the playlist and play as many random/scary/kick-arse/weird songs as possible before we get mauled by the hench doorman.....

NOW.... my question to you is this.... what songs should we play? anything thats going to scare/annoy indie fans- death metal, parodys, disney theme tunes e.t.c e.t.c.

obviously i already have the songs that would always spring to mind when thinking of songs for an occasion such as this. here they are:

- I Will Survive (in japanese)
- Peppermint John by The Grape Digging Sharon Fruits
- Fine Weather For Ducks by Lemon Jelly
- Chainsaw Abortion by Prostitute Disfigurement

any suggestions other than these run-of-the-mill tracks? i need something weirder....

They do tutorial CDs and private lessons via the internet

The solo in lesson 3 is just an exercise in putting a lot of famous riffs together.

To see the tutporial bits you may have to download their active x plugin (I can't remember) in that case head off to www.riffinteractive.com

None the less it seems to iritate almost everybody to hear metallica, santanna and jingle bells all in the same piece.

They do a lot of theory stuff in other tutorials, along with a lot of the in the style of tutorials (I have the Gilmour, ZZ Top and Chicago blues CDs)

Star Trekking

Although you'll probably only get through half a song before the lynch mob finds you.  Trust me; I've done this sort of thing before.

haha nice stuff guys... we couldnt do it in the end!!!    because the speakers got put away really early cause the organisers were afraid of people wrecking them....!!!!! we did howver, burst out of the fire doors and run around a field several times... which was jsut as fun...
