I managed to snag one on ebay. It was surprisingly beat-up for what must be a fairly new pedal, but then again that was reflected in the price.
I must say I'm pretty impressed so far. I do think it could sound a little better, I wouldn't say its quite the level of a rack mount. But I am being harsh - it surely is good sounding and no one will hear any problems live in a band mix.
If it were just about the sounds that came with the pedal as stock, I would probably move this one on and try a Digitech Hardwire. However I must say the "toneprint" feature adds alot and, also considering the pedal's small size, I will not be moving the Hall of Fame on.
At first I thought the toneprint thing would be a marketing gimmick, but some of the sounds that can be downloaded from the TC Electronic website are really awesome. Depending on the artist, quite a bit of effort seems to have gone in. I especially like the Steve Morse presets, hes obviously really thought about them. You can also download sounds to the pedal via an iPhone and the guitar pickups, which is still jaw dropping to me, even though its basically using modem/fax technology.
I also tried their editor to make your own sounds - thats good as well, but theres no actual save feature which is unfortunate and severely limits its usefulness. Perhaps they will add it later. Using this editor, I managed to turn the pedal into a jet flanger for example, so the editor could be a powerful bonus in later versions of it.
