Itamar-is it the first time you have gone for a guitar with no fret markers? I am still undecided whether to go for fret markers or not in my custom-I realise that I rely a lot on fret markers but love the look of a less busy fretboard.

This is my first time. I have used another Mayones with no fret markers once before for about 30 minutes, though. Still, If you like the look then I would go for it. In my own experience it doesn't take much getting used to at all.
I hope this helps. :)

Not normally my sort of thing, but I do really like that.

I love the shades of Blue on it too. I also like how it's not too OTT or garish like some of those I've seen before

When I got a guitar with only a marker on the 12th I was concerned too, but I find you adjust pretty quick, use the sidedots and donīt really notice if the guitar has fretmarkers or not much.
Most of the time I just play. When looking at tabs it might take me like 1 or 2 sec more in the beginning really.

Thanks! I actually chose a satin to remedy that "OTT look" that makes it look like a toy (with a reasonable amount of uncertainty because I rarely see any that I like - Probably because I've only played Gibson and Ibanez satins before).

But this satin is incredible. I feels so soft and smooth on my fingers and is so 3D that it's ridiculous. Honestly, if every satin finish was like this I would only have satin finishes. It reflects perfectly.

I'm also liking the colour!  It reminds me a bit of Steve Morse's signature model.

Really beautiful guitar. You don't see many stunners like this one and the Blackhawks looks right at home in it. Big congrats!  :D

One thing I just wonderes about: Do you feel the maple board has a noticable effect on the sound or canīt you tell?
I hardly ever see maple board outside of classic strats and been recently wondering how they fare with other kinds of guitars.

Really? I spose most modern metal guitars from Jackson, Ibanez etc... mostly have rosewood or ebony boards. And of-course maple fingerboards look daft on a Gibson style guitar. I always favour (why is it trying to spell-check that? Silly american software) a maple neck/board for feel and yea, it seems to add high-end and spank/cut. Kinda like ebony but without the really fast attack. I'm sure a luthier like Jon could tell you what's actually happening.

Most guitars I see in person are either Ibbys, PRS, Gibsons, LTDs and such which as you say have rosewood or ebony. I only see maple on Strats, Teles, etc, so basecally the Fenders.
I agree that it looks really cool on LP types, but it is so rare that I have only ever seen it on the internet.
Ebony without really fast attack sounds really interresting.

Well, it definitely works for modern metal but most ERG do seem to have rosewood  8) Jeff Loomis uses maple and gets a sick sick sick tone. And it works on my Daemoness ;-p
