Did you guys both order your BKP's from the U.K?  I'm waiting on an American distributor to get his shipment and then I should be receiving a Bridge position Nailbomb shortly.  Do you think the duty/taxes would be any different?  I'm a fellow Canadian who lives in Edmonton BTW.

Not sure, to be honest.  But it would probably depend on how the US dealer gets the pickup to you.  Hope that he doesn't use UPS; they're evil.  For regular USPS or anything other than UPS you'll probably get slightly lower import fees.

Oh, and yeah, I ordered my BKPs from the website.

Well, so far this has been a nightmare!  I  don't have much in the way of spray gear, so I bought an electric gun on the recommendation of a salesgirl.  And, man, didn't that suck.  Even on the lowest setting it was like a fog machine for a stage production!  Instant paint runs everywhere.

So I sanded that back.

Then I borrowed a small compressor from a friend.  The problem was it was too small and ran out of air in seconds, then took a full 5 minutes to refill.

So that got sanded back.

Next, I found a decent compressor and gun.  I had finished the primer coats and had done one coat of colour, when i had a small problem and wanted to patch it.  So I went back to Home Depot and spoke to their paint expert:

"Will this fix the problem in my finish?"
"No, this is what you need."
"Ok.  Will it work with water-based paints without wrecking my finish?"
"Oh, yeah, that's what it's made for!"

You can see below what this recommended repair stuff did to my finished headstock.  Frikken git.  I should go back to the shop and beat him with the CBS neck.

I returned a few things, demanded not only my money back but free paint stripper and free replacement paint for what I'd wasted.

Just my 0.02cents, but you would be better off (maybe bit tedious but can be VERY useful again and GREAT tool to learn) getting a half decent airbrush for all that money/trouble.

I had one of those!  Than someone stole it, can you believe.

So thanks, but I think I'm going alright now with a little gun and small-but-fast compressor.  It just took me a few frustrating misses before I hit on something that worked for me.  I have two coats of Iridescent Brite Yellow on the body at the moment.   I'll probably end up with four or five coats of colour and about the same of clear.

Since I had to strip the headstock back I figured I'd just finish the clear satin on the back of the neck and then go back to colour-coating the face of the headstock when that's done.  It's probably a better way round to go at it anyways.
