but the thing is, thru and through are somewhat related - kinda look the same. chevaun and Siobhan are completely unrelated, haha.
bh in irish = v. Much like ph in english = f. It's very simple. The irish also have a habit of throwing in random vowels that don't do anything to how the word is pronounced, you get used to it after a while ( i don't speak any irish, by the way, this is as far as i can tell, lol).
and wtf does that g do in "through"? they don't look remotely the same.
another example: lieutenant is pronounced leftenant, unless you're american. that's as messed up as any irish word i've seen. english is one of the hardest languages to learn if it isn't your first language.
