VH11 vs. Mule

Hey again,
Have not purchased my LP Deluxe but have a question about my 86' LP Standard. Have the RY's in my other LP and love them. Wondering if I really want to go significantly lower output with a set of Mules or should I opt for the VH11's for blues,rock, old school metal? The RY's clean up so nicely that I am wondering if the VH11's do as well. If so, I would rather have the extra kick when needed. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks,

use a proper booster and you'll get the kick you want from any pickup

the vhii cleans up really really well
very articulate and glassy
just not as amazing as the mule, which sounds even glassier, more tridimensional and musical
the level of detail of the mule cleans is really impressive

both are very versatile pickups and both will do your intended styles
the vhII has more of a percussive articulation under gain, quite spanky, while the mule delivers a warmer response, which usually results in a chewy and organic tone on power chords with lots of gain, but still very clear

Tim says that if he could pick only one guitar for a tour, he would take a mule loaded les paul

I have both, but VHII is in an ash strat. I'm with Eric when it comes to Mules. More versatile then VHII's, which have their own place with their punchy, clear yet not whimpy sound. I use the VHII mainly for rock/hardrock. Mules for everything, but especially for cleans and crunchy stuff. Hard to beat in this field.
