Cigara (any other smoker's here?)

I grew up on a tobacco farm and have since been using various tobacco products for years.

Most notably I have been smoking cigars for approximately 6-7 years.

I just wanted to state a thread where, if there are any other aficionados out there, can discuss favorites tobaccos and the like. Whether it is pie tobacco, cigs, or cigars.

Personally i like my cigars quite strong and enjoy the nicotine kick.

I've found most Cuban cigars vastly overrated (Cohibas are great but overpriced) but I really love a Sancho Panza Non Plus..perfect mix of quality and value.

I stick with high quality Dominicans mainly.

I agree that largely cuban cigars a way overrated for the price, i do like the Montecristo #2. most of the cigars I like are coming out of Nicaragua. They tend to have the deeper flavors i enjoy (earth, coffee, leather, pepper).

I like really peppery cigars and leather flavors. if you can find them try a Diesel Unholy c--ktail made by AJ Fernandez. They are great smokes for the price (at least in the states).

I do like a lot of Dominican cigars as well la aurora, E.P Carillo Inch, AVO, Especially the La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero in chisel ( this one has a heck of a strength kick, but sneaks up because is as a fairly mild tasting smoke.

I'm not a smoker, although I'm not adverse to a drunken cigarette on a Saturday night.

I like the smell of cigars.

Does one inhale?

Generally speaking You dont inhale cigar smoke. It will make you hack up a lung. The smoke is generally much thicker and there is much more nicotine in a cigar than a cigarette. You also get much more different flavors out of a cigar. But, you also have to dedicate a bit of time to smoking a cigar. Even small cigars (Not machine rolled, but hand rolled) will burn for at least 45 minutes. This has a lot to do with the construction of a cigar, there is much more tobacco in a cigar and less additives.

I did have a Cohiba the other week.  it was brought for me when my daughter was born and its taken 18 months to get around to smoking it.   I used to have cigars quite regularly, usually with a nice bottle of single malt.  its been a while since i have really had either

Impressive! I must admit I rarely savour whiskey. I stick to wines and occasionally a good grappa. Just bought a magnificent bottle of grappa di Brunello di Montalcino (a little, renowned winevillage in Italy I visited last year).
