New to this forum (bought a new pickup - Mule)

Hello,

I just bought a Mule bridge pickup to fit one of my Les Paul. It's first time I try this brand of pickup and that was the one I took to give a try.

This pickup sounds great, but I still have the Gibson Burstbucker Pro at the neck... I wondering what would you guys recommend me to put in neck position. Should I buy another Mule? or another model?

Just to let you know I'm plugged in a Marshall Plexi and playing rock/hard rock/blues. Right now, my favorite pickup is the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro (Slash version - bit more output and mid). I have this set on another Les Paul.

Mule-neck is absolute stellar. I would go with that one to have a nice balanced in between sound too.

I guess the Mule neck would be the natural match to the Mule bridge.

The tonal differences between the SD AP2 and the Mule could be the guitar itself, too.

THe Mule neck makes sense. I've never heard a bad thing about the Mule in either the bridge or neck.

Thanks for the replies...

But the thing is that I would like a bluesy kinda lead tone with the neck pickup... I don't know if the Mule would give that. It's a bit tighter, so I don't know... That's one thing I like about the SD Alnico II Pro and Gibsons neck pickups in general.

i've just put a mule set in my les paul custom and the mule neck was put on this earth to do bluesy lead stuff and much more besides.

No problem! I use a Mules loaded in a mahogany Saint Blues for a bluesrock-classic rock projectband. The neckpickup is great for (by example) Bonamassa-licks.
