EHX Slammi - anyone tried one?
« on: December 13, 2013, 07:10:17 PM »
Just saw that EHX has released their take on a whammy pedal called the Slammi. In the clip below it sounds good to me, but I'm not totally sold on the control layout. It must be hard to see which mode you're using when you're in a dark room and it seems a bit fiddley compared to Digitech's whammys. Then there's the new rocking design of the pedal. It might work, but it looks akward and propably takes some times to get used to. Then there's the name... The Slammi... Come on!!! What a horrible name. They could might as well have named it The Salami!

Is there any of you BKP gents who has tried the Slammi and if so what is your experience?

I think it looks ace!  Yeah, perhaps overly complex... I struggle to adjust drive levels correctly on stage, I suspect I'd be lost with that.

And it's an awful name.

I would still rather buy a Digitech Whammy, the new 5th version or the GT.
LTD MH1000 - A-bomb/VHII
Ibanez FRIX6FEAH - Holydiver/Emerald
Fender Telecaster - Blackguard Flat '52s
Gibson Les Paul Studio - Riff Raff/Mule
Soon: LTD EC1000 - Black Dog set...
