DPDT Switch help
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:10:46 PM »
Hello all,

Been wanting to jazz up my wiring and replace my 2 tone pots with a a couple of on/on switches. Currently I have 1 vol, 2 tone, 1 3-way toggle, this is what I want:

http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WD2HH3T10_05/2-Humbuckers3-Way-Toggle-Switch1-VolumeSeries-Parallel.html

I would like the 2 switches to fit directly into the vacant tone pot holes, unfortunately every switch I have found has .25" diameter, and the hole is .375".

Can you get wider switches?

Cheers.

Electronics parts shops like Maplins (UK) or Frys (US) should have a range of larger dpdt toggle switches than the usual guitar mini-swiches

Eg http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/dpdt-toggle-switch-fh39n

Got a few guitars - old to new and Boogie kit.
BKPS: Rebel Yell, Holydiver

Love old valve amps... But then I am biased!

Checked Maplins, ebay, google etc... seems you can only get switches with 6mm or 12mm thread diameter, I need 9mm.

What you want to be looking at really is the diameter of the washer. They are usually large enough to secure in standard pot holes.
