So, I have a set of alnico Black Hawks installed in my Ibanez RGA121.  You'd think these to be a match made in heaven, but the maple cap on this guitar is so thick that I'm finding that it's STILL too bright & lacks quite a bit of low end.  I'm strongly considering switching to a c-Pig in the bridge & a VHII in the neck.  I play mostly progressive metal (Intervals / After the Burial / Modern Day Babylon)  in either standard or drop C.  Let me know your thoughts!

I think c-pig will have too much lows. Juggernaut? It has nice lows and low mids and sweeter highs.

Yup, I strongly recommend the Juggernaut, or even the Holydiver. I don't know the C-Pig, so I can't say anything about it, sorry.

The Juggernaut neck pickup should also be voiced quite close to the VHII neck, so a Juggernaut set would probably be the best way to go! :)

Or you could swap them out for my alnico Black Hawks... Mine have insane amounts of bass in my all-mahogany LTD MH-1000. Currently I'm wondering if I made a mistake buying Black Hawks. All the videos/clips I saw/hears sounded great, but in my setup they really just drop da bass... Even adjusted to 9 mm from the strings, they are quite bassy.
LTD MH1000 - A-bomb/VHII
Ibanez FRIX6FEAH - Holydiver/Emerald
Fender Telecaster - Blackguard Flat '52s
Gibson Les Paul Studio - Riff Raff/Mule
Soon: LTD EC1000 - Black Dog set...

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I think I'm just going to keep an eye out for a set of Holy Divers for now, possibly a HD bridge & Emerald neck.
