Hm, whats about the juggernaut? has the lowest output after the black hawk....

Like these clean tones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzSEixHXGSE  (bit cheesy but ya...)
With distorted i want in this direction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhigB8FyLNQ (2nd rhythm guitar at 2:50)

The cobra is really picky with bright stuff:
Had problems (on 6-String) with EMG81/85 and even some with Black Hawks.  Not warm. nearly nasal... specially clean
So im a bit afraid of pickups which are pushed at (upper-) mids and treble, cause amp and guitar have already tons of it.
To control the mids on this amp is not so easy, cause on cobra there are 3 knobs for "bass" and 2 for treble, but nothing effective for the mids, only a notch what i dont like to use.

So scooped in high midrange sounds like a good idea...

Ibanez MMM1 with super58 sounded like i want it, but theres no 7 string version of this pickup....

Thank you!

get greenbacks
I had a cobra half stack and the head was really picky with speakers
couldn't make it sound good with anything other than the cobra cab with greenbacks
with the greenbacks, it sounded clearer and meatier, with a smooth but defined midrange texture

I personally liked that amp in the crunch channel, boosted and with holy diver and miracle man models
I remember both pickups sounded great down to drop B, but I'm not sure I'd go lower than that with the holy diver, but the black dog might handle a something lower
the black dog sounds a lot like the holy diver, but it has a more articulate and less compressed sound

I love the g12100k... didnt like the original cab, cause the speakers broke up too early in my ears.
Now i have  Dragon 4x12 cab with 2xv30 & 2xg12k100 and an orange pp8 with 4x g12k100
i also had  the sound i want, but with the wrong guitar :-)

my setting is maybe also quite different from yours:
i play lead without notch, gain on 10-11 nearly full mids and bass on 12, treble on 10´clock and presence just on 8´clock....

actually, my settings were very close to yours, except that I used the crunch channel, and was bass around 8-9 hours (or it would swallow the bassist), but I'm a les paul player
