I'll have my VHII's in my ESP by the weekend but if your guitar is basswood and you want EVH type tones and techniques surely the VHII's would be the obvious choice?

I'm hoping so.  My Les Paul is my main guitar now but I wanted to put vhii's in my super strat simply because I wanted a guitar for playing EVH type stuff on!

I've had a VHII bridge pickup and it is great for that early EVH sound, especially through a cranked valve amp. But as this guitar seems lacking in harmonics, I'm trying to get the best pickup for bringing out those harmonics, and Tim advised a high output ceramic for that. I've gigged the Painkiller now and it is a definite improvement, tapped harmonics ring out easier (although I'm still thinking a new body might be in order sometime!!lol).
Bridge: (A)Pig, HD, Jugg, PK, (A)NB, Crawler, Aftermath, RY, Abraxas, Emerald, BD, VHII, RR, Cobra, Sinner, Trilogy, Stockholm, Supermassive.
Neck: IT, SM, CS, Trilogy, Emerald, Cobra, Blue note.

I think its depends on what your own idea of harmonics to be fair and your own style and the rest of your gear.

Just had a long play with my super strat with vhii's in today for the first time and for EVH type harmonics (What I wanted) its incredible just what I was after and as described the highs are crystal clear......tapping on the bridge sounds awesome.  For say Zakk Wylde pinch harmonics its not as good as the painkiller for sure but each to their own its as much in the fingers as any thing.

I know once Tim recommended me the miracle man for nuno bettencourt stuff....
