I had my 100 watt engl up full today, and with earplugs it's just like watching tv.

(a) the alternative is not being able to hear anything properly :lol:

(b)get attenuating ones- like the etymotic ones on www.stringbusters.co.uk . You can hear a normal conversation, or a cranked halfstack, lol.

it's true, it cuts out the treble a little (what's doing the hearing damage lol), but it gives you a pretty good indication of the tone.
