Question about magnet flipped for the neck position
« on: September 05, 2014, 03:33:43 PM »
Hi there, I saw something necessary on this forum about the magnet flipped on neck pickup! I've recently ordered a set of the juggernauts on AXEPALACE.COM and there wasn't an option to select this item, I'd would like to consult something with you!
actually I've got a 5 ways pickup selector on my guitar so, I'd would to have the following diagram,
1, Bridge humbucker
2, inner coils of both pickups
3, both humbuckers
4, neck parrallel
5, neck humbucker,
so my question is, it's on my order already or should I tell it to them ?

my ordered options was like this:

Bare Knuckle Humbucker Pickups - Covered

Pickup Position
Calibrated Set

Guitar Type
6-String
Models
Juggernaut (set)

Cover Options:
Tyger Gold

Pole Screws
Gold Bolts

Custom Etching
Bulb Etch (calibrated set)

String Spacing
53MM -- Ideal for most tremolo guitars, but works in anything
Leg Length

Short Leg -- recommended in 99% of guitars
Conductor

4 Conductor -- For guitars with 5-way switches or coil-taps (or anything)

Guitar Make/Model
Ibanez RG1820

Pickups Being Replaced
Crunch-Lab and LiquiFire

thank you:)

The magnet flip is for PRS guitars with out-of-phase settings.  I think you'll be OK....

No - he needs the Mag-flip
the Ibanez **20 models all have the 2HB with 5 way switch  and use a reversed magnet on one of the pickups

Best get onto your dealer to get it amended

That's correct.  I have a 5way Ibanez selector switch on my RG, and use the exact same wiring.  I was unaware of the need to flip the neck mags when I placed my order to BKPs direct, but thankfully they caught it for me and specified the need for flipping the neck mags before processing my order.

I'm not entirely certain what unflipped magnets do with that selector, but I believe it has something to do with weakening the sound in certain positions due to an out of phase polarity.

Thank you guys for your responds I just sent a message to AXE-PALACE facebook page and they told me:
whenever we get in order thats going in an Ibanez, we instruct BKP to do the magnet flip. No worries :)

So I'm happier now ! :)
