As the tele plate is thin you won't need much thread pushing through - just enough for the washer and nut.
So you'll probably need to use a couple of star washers or a nut and a star washer to hold the body of the pot back from the plate
As such you may find that the anti-rotation tab isn't an issue, but it wouldn't hurt at all to simply remove it as a matter of course (grab with pliers and twist)
