Abraxas, Mule, or Riff Raff for ESP Eclipse I

I'm loping for a nice gold covered set to replace my JB/59 set in my ESP Eclipse.

I love the sound and how expressive the Duncan '59 is in the neck. I know people will say I may as well keep it in that case. But I like BKPs so I fancy trying something new.

With the Eclipse being thinner than a conventional Les Paul, with the added Ebony fingerboard, I was thinking maybe an Abraxas over a Mule for the bridge. Also for that little boost in power. But wanted to ask how the Abraxas compares to the Riff Raff.

But with the neck, I'm unsure wether to get a calibrated set, or a Riff Raff as I hear it is like the Duncan '59. I've got no problems with the calibrated. I just also wanted to ask what the differences are between the Mule/Abraxas and Riff Raff neck?

I think that's what I've decided on :) What are the difference between the Abraxas and Mule neck? Are they that slight you probably wouldn't notice if someone swapped them out without you knowing?

Abraxas-neck has a bit more lows and a slightly less bright topend compared to the Mule-neck. You could also go for a Mule-neck, as balance is not a problem. Both are equal hot. The Mule is tad more open. It's a very musical neckpickup and handles gain very well, but so does the Abraxas-neck.

Well, Eclipses are in general brighter than LP's. In this case the ebony board add some extra percussiveness. Hence, I recommend the Abraxas over the Mule-bridge. The Abraxas is mediumhot and has still a lot of PAF-pedigree. Just a bit more meat and mids compared to the Mule-bridge.

I can give a comparison between the Abraxas neck and the Riff Raff neck. The RR is a bit brighter but still warm.

I would have said replace the JB in the bridge with an Abraxas bridge and be done with it if you like the 59 in the neck. But if you want to go all the way, get the Abraxas set. My feeling is that the smoother highs of the AB neck would be a better fit to the ebony fretboard.

Abraxas set! they are stunning pickups and will definitely suit your guitar especially if its on the bright side.
