The .015 cap will the neckpickup a bit brighter. .022 for the bridge is a standard. It depends on the natural voice (dark or bright) if you want to go lower or higher values. I have 500k cts pots in my guitar. Works fine with Mules.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Do you recommend the 550k pots?

Also on the wiring diagram, it recommends .022 caps for both pickups. Isn't the .015 better for the neck?

For the neck pickup volume and tone, yes, together with the .015 cap, if you want the "woman tone" with the tone pot rolled all the way down. Personally I use smaller caps but I am not interested in the woman tone.

For the bridge I find pot values around 500k or slightly below to keep the brightness in check. If you want brightness, however, the 550k pots are the way to go. .022uf is the standard cap value - good for wha effects. Again I tend to use smaller values.

Cheers Stephan

How do you mean the "woman tone"?

"Woman Tone" = Cream Era Clapton.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDZqmF3zS04

I've gotten close results to that with the 0.022 UF cap / 500k CTS pots and a Rebel Yell neck pickup.  The Rebel Yell bridge or the A-Bomb bridge are actually pretty awesome, but I do realize they probably aren't exactly what you're gunning for.
