New Black Crowes DVD
« on: March 22, 2006, 09:38:46 AM »
I think the majority of forum members are from the U.K. and I don't know how popular they were there but the Black Crowes have a brand new DVD called "Freak n' Roll: Into the Fog" and it's great.  There is some truly great interplay between Marc Ford (who somehow got a porno moustache) and Rich Robinson.  It's not shred but it's stellar musicianship all the way around.

There's also a guitar parade to die for including 2 Zemaitis, beautiful new Les Paul Standards and 335's as well as a cavalcade of teles, strats, LP Jr's, and some I can't even tell what they are.

The Black Crowes are one of my favourite bands and if you're a fan definitely check out the DVD.

Southern Harmony is a classic, but haven't heard any of their more recent stuff. I know Marc Ford uses some Analogman pedals. They toured the US with Oasis who they are/were friends with.

The 'Crowes are a great band - I saw them on their 1st album tour at Newcastle City Hall.  Wasn't too keen on their last record (Lions) but loved the one before that (name escapes me) with Faster and Go Tell The Congregation on - some seriously tasty guitar tones on there.

Sounds like a good DVD. I might have to get that one. I agree they are a great band with some cracking songs and guitar playing. I saw them at Brixton about 4 years ago and they were superb. Noel Gallager made an appearance and got booed!
