How well would a BKP-90 and a boss tele Bridge pickup work? I've been thinking about trying this with my next incarnation of the telecaster I've got, but there's a couple of things I'm not sure about.

Firstly is that the Boss pickups work great with a 300k pot, but I'm under the impression P-90s tend to prefer 500k pots. Are there any solutions for this?

The second thing is the difference in output, is the P-90 going to be too much for the boss pickup, or would it match nicely? Is there any wind that'd be slightly fatter sounding than a boss without loosing it's teleness and without going quite into piledriver territory? Like a bossdriver or something I guess? :?  Something calibrated specificly to pair up with a BKP-90 could work?

I know the guy in Blur and Keef both get by with seemingly stock teles and Gibson buckers in the neck, but I can't confess to being a huge fan of either's tone or boast to have ever even so much as sniffed their teles. I'm slightly out of my element mixing different pickup types on a guitar since I've never owned one with both kinds and I've rarely played any with both either.

Any help is appreciated as always guys.

You can have the BKP-90 underwound slightly, I have this on a couple of mine and they still sound great.  300K pot will also be fine with the P-90. I think you will get a great sound from it.  I have tele's with different neck pickups because I don't really like the original sound.   Tim is just making me a set with a brown sugar bridge and a slowhand neck, but I also have a piledriver/mini-mule set.  I also have a regular fender bridge with a lipstick tube neck.
So many pickups, so little time

We do P90s for neck positions all the time and alot go on Teles-they sound great...........as Phil rightly said I wind them lighter for the neck so balance isn't a problem.300K will be fine.

That sounds awesome! Would it still work the same way with a 4 way switch like I have it hooked up at the moment?
