stockholms and warpigs
« on: February 21, 2015, 09:39:40 PM »
So recently i put together a strat with an alder body and a wenge neck with an ebony fretboard. i was expecting the stockholm bridge to work great in this setup but i feel like the neck's woods are bringing out some higher frequencies that i wasnt really expecting . so i'm going to move it over to another strat with a maple neck and rosewood board that has worked great with the pickup previously. i've been wanting to try the warpig for ages now and i think this is my best solution for the wenge/ebony. do you think this would work well? and do you think a certain magnet choice will be better than another? thanks!

by the way i also sent this to the BK staff to see what they think.

I think the ebony will balance the Warpig out. There is one for sale on the trade section here.

I have both versions of warpig...alnico in maple neck through alder wings ebony fingerboard and ceramic in full mahogany rosewood fingerboard...I have tried them oposite but I like current configuration better...Alnico in alder/maple/ebony sounds excellent...it's clear and nicely balanced and I can use that guitar for everything from jazz to modern metal....it's much open in mids and also slightly more "rock" voiced than ceramic which sounded in the same guitar more heavy and brutal....ceramic there also sounded more dirty and due to eq curve (less mids more high mids and higs) had more gain...Also ceramic in all mahogany works perfect...I grab that guitar everytime when I need to play more brutal and faster stuf...It's a pure grind machine...I had almost all pickups from temporary range and these 2 bar-stewards are the best pickups I have had so far...I hope this will help
