how much is their cheapest 'good' one? koch that is....

not sure if marshall do a combo dsl.. ill check it out

They do! I dunno if its any good or not though, as I've not played it, but from what I've read they arent that good compared to the older Marshalls. Koch are so expensive.

Tom there not thats the cool thing about them. The head i've got will give Deizels a run for the money all day long and that Herbert head they do goes over 2 grand and you still need a cab.

I thought I saw one of the smaller combos for around £700 ish before which is a bit much as you can probably get much better stuff for that price.

I doubt it! There stuff sounds amazing. £700 isn't a lot when you consider the research and engineering that goes in to amps like this.

machinehead were just utter idiots basically... i cant believe a guy whose job was a guitar tech, got a pup wiring wrong and didnt realise- or if he did realise he didnt tell me?! the price in the first place was ridiculous £40!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told my parents to ask for a refund as soon as my dad came back from the shop and told me how much they charged... i was outraged.... bloody fools...

thats true but £700 is still a lot of moolah. What kinda tone do Kochs have anyway? Modern or vintagey kinda vibe?

The do it all Tom Lovely cleans vintage and modern, mild overdrive crunch, scooped thrash, Zakk lead tones, you could plug an 8 string in and be doing Messhugga in a few minutes! I'm still finding new sounds in mine after 8 months. I've been on mine all day and there are so many sounds you can find. Cheaper amps just don't give you that kind of flexibility.

They might do Engls, which i'm sure are well worth looking into. They have some serious gear in Holidays!

Don't worry about that, it took me ffing years to make my mind up. The way I saw it, you can do it the cheap way and not feel totally satisfied, or save, be patient and try everything you can lay your hands on and most importantly, let your ears make the decision. When I plugged in to a Powertone at the LGS last year I went into a kind of hypnotic GAS trance for around 5 hours!! I made the decision to buy one then and there. Then it just turned into a waiting game as I had to wait for it to be shipped. Then nearly chopped the tip of my middle finger off my left hand the day I bought it lol!

That actually sounds AWESOME. Maybe too good to be true though? I want to play one now. Does yours do ACDC or GNR/Slash style crunch well, aswell as metal?!

Lol Yes in a word! I like playing along to those bands at home and you can get those tones easily, with the right Bkp's obviously a lot easier. It's got 3 channels 1 is clean 2 is more vintage but gets seriously dirty past 6 and the 3rd channel has an extra pre-amp valve and it's got even more gain and it just gets mental! Plus i use it with an attenuator like the hotplate you want and its got full/half power on the power amp, plus accutronics reverb. The cab has Jenson speakers too!

Haha these Koch's sound too good to be true! I've been reading HC reviews and they all get awesome reviews. Where are the UK shops that sell em, other than Holiday Music? Really wanna go give a Multitone or Classictone a play!
