Telerocker, the pickup that you suggested I did try and I didn't like it, personnel opinion is just that.
I know what you mean when you thought it would be "on the top end" but Tim said the Black Dog sounds great in a Strat. My son reminded me when he asked Tim about George Lynch tone and recommended the MM for his Strat and it sounded "Awful!" No disrespect to Tim at all, but it was one of my least liked BKP! It turned out that the Calibrated Holy Diver set sounded more Lynch & EVH, and most of the 80s to some 90s, all in the technique, that I use them.

I remember Tim has the Abraxas in one of his strats, but It's difficult to pick the right pickup for the right guitar and it also depends on the amp used. I also see forummembers shifting BKP's from one in to the other Les Paul to find the ultimate marriage of guitar and pickups. The tonequest never ends.

Telerocker, your right about that! I've seen people say the neck Cold Sweat is the best in a Les Paul, then Strat guys "Swear" by them! I think it depends on your whole setup and what do you want out of it.

Also you have a nice guitar by the way \../

Honest;y, if you roll back the gain on your amp the Crawler is the way to go. If you want Strat sounds you could coil tap it.
