very nice, and a bit of variety with the pickups.  I think you've settled on the type of guitar you like though ;)

I tried soooooo many brands!
Every now and then i find a les paul or a strat that has my vibe to its looks and feel.
The rg shaped ibbys just hit me at home. Every one feels and sounds worlds apart tho they look "the same"

Many years since I had an RG but I recall them being lovely guitars with awful stock pickups but that is easily changed. If you bought a cheaper one, the locking trems could be a bit suspect too but once you moved up the range they were superb. You certainly have a beautiful collection there. I've never bought even two of the same guitar at any one time but that might be more to do with me wanting to keep a limited collection of instruments based on actual need. I would have repeated a Fender Stratocaster but you just can't buy an HSS or HH Strat with a decent Floyd Rose trem at reasonable money. All of the cheaper options come with the awful Floyd Rose Special and then you suddenly jump to something costing thousands. I suppose the Dave Murray model is different but I object to spending that much money on a guitar just to get a decent Floyd when the first thing I'll do is rip out the pickups. It's great that you've found what really works for you and still gives you a range of tones
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Its interesting that even tho they are the same/similar guitars tgey are worlds apart in feel. Then the sound due to hardware, strings and tunings etc widen the difference even more. The differences + the rg/jem look are what keep me returning.
Ditto on the floyd

What a lovely collection. Oddly, in all my years of playing, I've only played a couple of Ibanez guitars. I liked the necks I must say.

I had a few Ibbies. A bolt-on LP in creme which was not a very good guitar. Late eighties I had one of the first Jem 77 FP-guitars. Sold that one when I went back to non FR-guitars. Later I had an Ibanez AS120 for a while. Good guitar. Pickups could be better. Then i tried the Ibanez SZ520. Nice guitar, mediocre pickups. Neck and fretboard were not totally for me. Good value though.

I definitly found my niche with japanese made jems/Rg's.
I love all guitars but ibanez just fit my digits.

Yeah, with the knowledge of today I should have kept the FP77. It served me long time, but then I was done with FR-equipped guitars with pointy headstocks and went back to mainly strats and telecasters. Mine was one of the first, so with the linnen curtains under the transparant poly. ;-)
