Just done a house clearout and came across an AXL Deluxe Player, and wondered if anyone is familiar? The body is stained and looks to initally be a 5 piece body. Does this really matter?
I've had a go, and whilst the strings are rusty and the guitar stays in tune less frequently that a deaf drunk man, it seems to be quite loud, acoustically. Is this a good sign? When I play a note, I do feel the metal in back of the body vibrate, so this could be contributing to it, but itsn't this common on Strat style guitars, and people just put foam inside?
Just curiosity to see if it's worth doing up as a home project?
EDIT: When strumming hard, the metal in the back cavity really does ring out. It's quite a high pitched noise. Kind of that ring after you hear a cymbal being hit and when it dies, there's still that high frequency. Is this common? And how would I fix it?
