I definitely notice a different with V30's! Just come back from a practice where I had to run my 6505+ through a stock Marshall cab, too fizzy and boomy!

And how the hell do you play your 6534+ in the house at acceptable volumes haha.

Yeah I did it during the day when the neighbours are not around to complain.  At least the two closest ones, anyway.  You'll be relieved to hear that I put the dog outside.  My own ears were ringing badly enough afterwards as I didn't have plugs in for the sound tests.  Gonna do some more today, maybe at lower volumes.  I need to work out a song arrangement and also learn how to use some of those new (and complicated!) pedals (DD-7 and PS-6).  I don't have the manuals for either one so I will have to find those online

Yeah a lot of Marshall cabs have T75s, I really don't like them.  I had the chance to have a tired looking Marshall cab instead of this one, the wood would have been better (except for the backboard) but it was pretty beat up and it was only two V30s with two T75s in an X pattern.  I'd rather have the cheaper cab with four V30s

You're lucky, the walls are so thin round here you can even hear people's conversations if its quiet enough! I attempted to play mine at 1 on post-gain but its still way too loud! 0.5 is inaudible so there's little point using it in the house. I've been backing off the resonance to 5 now when I play and its tightened up the tone a lot. Presence on 6.5 to cut though a bit better as I have a dark sounding lower register guitar.

Sorry if I missed this but did you use any overdrives in front of the amp?

I just wish we did more headline shows where we have to provide the cabs or with bands that play through V30 equipped ones! Recently we've been playing a few shows with 3 piece bands who's vocalist/guitarist uses a combo meaning I get to use my mate's Orange PPC412!

I thought I replied to your post

I feel bad for you living in a place like that.  I used to live in a place like that and the woman downstairs would snort coke and then bonk really loudly all night, so bad that I'd have to call the cops eventually so that I could get some sleep

I don't use an overdrive, just a clean boost. One of an MXR MC-401, running on 18V with the knob set at 9 o'clock.

The corners on the cab are really flimsy, by the way.  I removed them today because they are doing more harm than good, bending back and damaging the tray mat in my ute

Yeah its a nightmare here, the neighbours on our left are proper noisy, slamming the front door and running round the house. Does my head in!

Oh ok, I find my tubescreamer just smooths things out more and makes it barkier! I've not used a microp amp/clean boost thingy before, just the Ts-9 which does something similar?

Lol f**k that, guess there's a trade-off for something so cheap!

Yeah the tolex is cr@ppy too, already got some tears in it just from being loaded in and out the back of my ute, but at this price point it's all about function, not looks.  If all the tolex comes off I'll just spray it with some rubber paint or something!
